The Copper We Need. Mined Responsibly.
ABOUT
Hudbay (TSX, NYSE: HBM) is a diversified mining company with long-life assets in North and South America. The company’s operations in Cusco (Peru) produce copper with gold, silver, and molybdenum by-products. Our operations in Manitoba (Canada) produce gold with copper, zinc and silver by-products. Hudbay’s organic pipeline includes copper development projects in Arizona and Nevada (United States), and our growth strategy is focused on the exploration, development, operation, and optimization of properties it already controls, as well as other mineral assets it may acquire that fit our strategic criteria. Hudbay’s mission is to create sustainable value through the acquisition, development and operation of high-quality, long-life deposits with exploration potential in jurisdictions that support responsible mining, and to see the regions and communities where the company operates benefit from our presence.
The Mason Project is a large greenfield copper deposit located in the historic Yerington District of Nevada and one of North America's largest undeveloped copper porphyry deposits.
With a projected 27-year mine life, the Mason Project is planned to be an open-pit shovel/truck operation. The initial concentrator design includes conventional crushing, milling, and froth floatation. Waste from this process will be sent to our Tailings Facility. All earth and other natural materials removed to access the flotation will be placed in our Waste Rock Storage area. Some of this material will be used to build the dams on our lined Tailings Storage Facility.
